Water, this tasteless, colorless, and nutrient free material, is almost magical in what it does for us and our planet. I could fill a book with its strange properties and how they are integral to life. But for this article I will stick to the things it does for our bodies and for weight loss.
There is no doubt that losing excess fat will improve our health on so many different levels. When it comes to excess fat, we either lose it or lose life, and a HUGE component of losing excess fat is water.
There are several reasons that water helps us lose weight, the main one is that water is the transportation system of the body. If you think of the body as an object that is constantly replacing its parts and renewing its tissues and organs then you can begin to see just what water transportation does for us.
Water moves our blood cells away from the lungs, kidneys, intestines, and liver where they have loaded up on protein for repairing and building body parts and oxygen and nutrients for the cells to use as fuel. As the water moves our blood cells to the tiny blood vessels called capillaries, they deliver their cargo to the cells. The now empty blood cells then pick up the trash that the tissue have dumped and the water carries the blood cells back toward the lungs, kidneys and liver where the waste products from the tissues are dumped and a fresh load of oxygen, protein and nutrients are loaded for a return trip to the cells.
When you do not drink enough water the whole transportation system slows down and the body begins to horde water because it thinks a drought is occurring. This allows toxic waste to build up in your system and it slows down all of the building, energy creating, and healing that your body does each day. If you are losing fat, water is the thing that transports the fat from your fat cells to be burned for energy. Not enough water? Your fat loss slows along with all other process of the body.
All of this is a very precise way of telling you why you should drink 64ounces of cold water a day. OK, it doesn’t have to be cold, but cold water burns calories because the body has to heat it up. Now you know why you should be drinking 8 glasses, or 64 ounces, of water every day.

Getting fat seems to be part of life after 30, what with kids, work, and not having enough energy. Then there are the hormone changes that take place, especially with us women. It sometimes seems that we aren’t supposed to enjoy eating after 30. It can be scary to see your mother’s or even your grandmother’s body beginning to take the place of your own.
Some of the problem may be because our 30′s is a very busy, stressful time. We are getting married, starting families, focusing on our careers and sometimes getting divorced. This constant stress can result in our bodies producing high levels of cortisol. Cortisol has been linked to weight gain in many studies. Besides the cortisol problem, many people relieve stress by eating.
You need to take time to do things you enjoy that are good for you and reduce stress. Sports, reading, walking, swimming or whatever relaxes you should be made a part of your everyday life.
A calorie is merely a measure of energy. Technically it is the amount of energy needed to raise 1 ml of water 1 degree Celsius. So just considering calories alone isn’t a good idea. What you need is food that has a high bulk to calorie ratio. For instance a Snickers bar—my favorite—has about 271 calories in it. Whereas a head of lettuce has about 15 calories in it. You could eat 18 heads of lettuce and still have eaten less calories than you got in the one Snickers bar. OK, so that is a bit extreme, but you could eat 3 apples and get the same amount of calories as in one Snickers bar and the apple will fill you up more.
Cardiovascular exercise boosts your metabolism which is the rate at which your body is burning fuel. Not only does it raise your metabolism during the exercise, but keeps it elevated for up to 24 hours. Do things like biking, spin classes, kickboxing and power-walking. Exercise this way at least 3 times a week or more for 40-minutes.
Once you hit the old three-oh, all things remaining equal, you will lose a half a pound of muscle each year. To make matters worse, you will also add a pound of fat. Great Scott! That means by the time you are 40, you will have gained 10 pounds of fat and lost 5 pounds of lean muscle tissue. Lean muscle tissue helps you burn fat! Slow down that lean muscle tissue loss by doing some form of resistance training 3 times a week with a rest day in between.

There is a vitamin that when taken everyday will make your body burn up to 220 extra calories each day. Even if you don’t do anything else. It is also good for your heart and your skin. It is also one of the secret “switches” of The 7 Minute Diet.
Check out The 7 Minute Diet‘s other switches
OK, so you can quit looking for Vitamin x because I’ll tell you what it is. It’s Vitamin D3 and researchers at the University of Minnesota discovered that people who took 1,000 mg of Vitamin D3 burned an average of 220 extra calories a day and like I said before, that is with out doing anything else.
Just think, if it take you 20 seconds to take the Vitamin D3 then you’ll lose about 5 pounds of fat in about 10 weeks using up only 20 seconds a day and nothing else. Wow! Why not start taking it now and do it the rest of your life!
Yes, you can get Vitamin D3 from sunshine but for some reason it doesn’t cause the extra weight loss like taking it orally does.
This and 20 more “switches” are discussed in The 7 Minute Diet a weight loss manual that, even though it is called The 7 Minute Diet isn’t really a diet at all. 7 Minutes a day is all it takes to throw these switches. You don’t have to make any changes to your present diet plan or do any exercise.
So I bought The 7 Minute Diet to see if it was really all it claimed to be. There are a couple of soft upsales that look pretty good, but I skipped them because I wanted to get to the meat of the matter. I downloaded the ebook and settled in for A good read.
Suprised By The Science Of The 7 Minute Diet
As I finished the ebook I was impressed by the solid scientific evidence presented for each of the 21 fat-loss switches. Jon Benson had definitely done his homework. I was about to get a pen and paper to make a check list for myself so that I could do these switches with out virtually thumbing through the ebook. But then I noticed that Jon had prepared The 7 Minute Diet Cheat Sheet that succinctly stated each switch and how to do it.
The Results Of The First Month Of The 7 Minute Diet
Keeping track of doing all of the switches was not difficult in and of itself, but remembering to do them was hard at first. After the first week I was pretty good at doing them and by the second week they were becoming a habit. I started the month weighing–this is embarassing–242 pounds and I purposely didn’t weigh myself at all this month. My weight had been pretty steady over the last 6 months since the Holidays when I’d packed on an extra 15 pounds–sigh.
The 7 Minute Diet Surprise
I stepped on the scales at the end of the month and the digital read out flickered between 236.5 and 237 finally deciding on 237, rats! Still I had lost 5 pounds without breaking a sweat. So far for me The 7 Minute Diet is a keeper and I still have 4 weeks left on the guarantee.
The only drawback that I see to The 7 Minute Diet after using it for a month, is remembering to flip all of the switches and that some of the switches cost money. You have to buy certain vitamins and supplements, but I had many of these already since I am a wanna be heath nut.
For me The 7 Minute Diet was well worth the money but you are not going to lose weight really fast; you will lose it steadily and fairly effortlessly. Check out how much weight you could lose just spending 7 minutes a day with The 7 Minute Diet.

Jon Benson creator of the wildly successful Every Other Day Diet has done it again. He has just released his next best seller The 7 Minute Diet. If you think you are to busy to lose weight or have weight loss just doesn’t fit into your schedule, think AGAIN!
The 7 Minute Diet isn’t really a diet in the strict sense of the word. It is a fat burning booster routine that kicks your body’s fat burning into the stratosphere. If you think of weight loss as a sew-saw with calories-in on one side and calories-out on the other you will realize that you need to have the calories-out dude sitting on the ground leaving the calories-in guy hanging in the air. You can do this two ways: Eat less or burn more. Actually there is a 3rd way and that is to eat less and burn more and then we are talking rapid weight loss.
The 7 Minute Diet Equals Jogging 9 Miles.
Seriously, this 7 minute routine consists of 21 steps or switches that you throw each day that if done as proscribed will cause your body to burn 1,100 extra calories and that is equivalent of a 150 pound woman jogging over 9 miles. And the 7 Minute Diet does not consist of any exercises.
OK, I’ll Spill A Few Beans
One of the switches is drinking 64 ounces of ice-water a day. You got it! You see, since you are a warm-blooded creature, your body will warm that ice-water from 0 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius and that takes calories! All right one more bean. One of the switches in The 7 Minute Diet consists of taking a mega-dose of vitamin D3. This has been proved scientifically to cause your body to burn up to 220 extra calories a day. There are 19 more switches like this that, when combined, can cause your body to burn 1,100 extra calories a day. You got to try this thing. You can get more information and a 60 day risk free trial by clicking The 7 Minute Diet.

Calories
A calorie is a unit of measure for energy and it is also the bench mark measurement for weight loss diets. Losing weight is simple on paper: consume less calories than your body uses in a day. The reality is much different for several reasons. For instance, our bodies will adjust the amount of calories they use in a day depending on how much physical exercise we do, what our mental state is, and what it perceives as a starvation threat. This doesn’t include inherited tendencies or diseases and conditions which can also affect how much our body’s use calories in a day.
Metabolism
Metabolism is the term that we use when we are talking about the rate at which our bodies are using calories. A high metabolic rate would mean that our body is using a lot of calories and a low metabolic rate would mean that our body is using very little calories.
If you combine all of these factors and then throw in the psychological factors of why we overeat, you have a pretty complicated picture of how to lose the weight we have gained. Still, beneath it all is that over riding fact that we need to figure out a way to consume less calories than our body uses over a long enough period of time to lose the weight we want to lose.
Don’t Be Desperate
Often we become desperate to lose weight and resort to fad diets that partially work if you can stick to them. I say partially work because true weight loss is weight that you lose and keep off. Fad diets never address how to change your lifestyle enough to lose the unhealthy weight and keep it off for good. What you need to do is stay calm and settle in for a slow steady weight loss. Fast weight loss is often just water loss or worse yet lean muscle tissue loss. Lean muscle tissue burns up to 4 times the amount of calories than other tissue in our body so we don’t want to lose that.
Rules of weight loss
Getting 1 lb. of fat off your body means you need to use 3500 calories more than you would just to keep your weight stable. You don’t want to try to do that all in 1 day unless you are on a specialized diet like the hCG protocol. Barring that, what you need to do is think of weight loss as a set of stairs with landings at each floor. These landings are your goals and as you achieve each of them you will be closer to your over all goal. Below is the stair case that will take you to your goal.
Example:
Susan’s BMR was 1400 cal. and she uses 900 cal. daily in exercise, moving around and finishing her daily chores. To keep her weight stable, she needs to consume 2300 cal. After writing a food journal, Susan discovers she is consuming 2550 cal. a day. That is 250 cal. more than she needs. Susan could end up gaining 1 lb. every 2 weeks.
See how easy it is to gain weight when you are not paying attention to what you are eating and how much? The good news is is that we can reverse this entire process so that our bodies are gradually losing weight rather than gaining it. Once you have your data and see how your situation stacks up against Susan’s, you can reverse the process by reducing the calories you are eating and increasing the calories your body is using.
Try these ideas:
| Instead of… | Do this… |
| Soda Pop | Drink water. (calories saved: 97 for each 12 oz.) |
| An Egg McMuffin | Eat a small whole wheat bagel with one Tablespoon of peanut butter (calories saved: 185) |
| Spending your break at the vending machines | Go to the stairs and walk up and down them for 10 minutes (calories burned: 100) |
| Sleeping until the alarm goes off | Arise 10 min. earlier and go for quick morning walk (calories burned: 100) |
| Heading straight for the TV | Do 10 min. of yoga (calories burned: 50) |
Total Calories Saved: 532 (based on a 140-pound person)
How Much Should I Exercise?
The amount of exercise you need depends on your body size and style and how it reacts to exercise. Having said that, here are some rules of thumb. Get at least 250 min. of exercise a week and try to spread it out evenly throughout the week. The exercise can be anything from walking to marathon running, but choose an exercise that you like and one that fits your weight loss goals.
Find A Good Plan
If making up your own plan seems daunting or just to confusing then research good weight loss plans that are available on the internet and chose one that fits you best. Then follow it like a religion.

No matter which weight loss plan you choose to try, there is no disputing that reducing your carbohydrate intake can improve your well-being and ultimately your body fat loss.
Working to keep your metabolic markers in check and convert fat into fuel; making sure you do not eat too much protein (which is hard to breakdown) can halt large quantities of waste from gathering in your cells.

If you want to lose excess lbs, it is easy to become tempted by the less nobler routes to lose weight such as taking up a vice, skipping meals or excessive exercise. Although many of these strategies may offer you quick and immediate weight loss, the vast majority can promote long term dangers to your health, your body and your mentality.
Below we discuss the 4 worst tips to losing weight:

The nicotine in cigarettes may behave like an appetite suppressant, helping you to expel an additional 200 calories per day by boosting your metabolism. However should you continue to inhale cigarettes over the foreseeable future, cigarettes can raise your risk of heart disease, strokes and emphysema.
If you smoke, there are alternative strategies you can utilize to help you lose weight and quit smoking. Working out extensively for up to 20-30 minutes a day for example can help you to expel these same two hundred calories. While consuming 5-8 miniature meals a day can help to strengthen your calorie burn and keep your hunger in check.
Seen most amongst teenagers; pushing your fingers down your throat or taking a purging aid such as Ipecac to help make yourself sick is a dangerous way to lose excess lbs. As well as triggering eating disorders such as bulimia, making yourself sick can cause bad teeth, gum disease, heart failure and even death.
It is possible to exercise too much and actually put weight on. Studies have found that individuals who exercise too much are at risk of overeating once they get home. Similarly, exert yourself too much when you exercise and you could risk of becoming fatigued or prone to injuries.
Instead of over exercising, attempt to divide your routines into 5 sizable daily routines with at least 2 days of no exercise. This will give you time to regain your strength, as well as help to enhance your metabolic rate and prevent unwanted hunger.
Alarmingly starvation is the most utilized bad strategy for losing weight, the complication with starvation is once you eat again, it is easy to rapidly put this lost weight back on as your body thinks it has survived a famine. Furthermore, make your body survive an extended hunger period and this can trigger severe bodily damage, fatigue, disorientation and even death.
If you feel that you need to eliminate nutrients from your diet in order to lose excess lbs, aim to go on a 3 day ritual fast where you reduce your nutrient content to under 1,000 calories a day for 3 days. This will help your body to burn your fat stores and lose weight safely. (Please note: we strongly recommend that you DO NOT try this method).
Alternatively, if you are really struggling to lose weight and you want to boost your diet, why not think about trying a weight loss pill? Proven fat binders such as Proactol can provide you with the assistance you require to eliminate up to 28% of your dietary fat consumption while reducing your cravings and lowering your blood cholesterol.

Are you obsessed with food and unable to resist those sinful
‘goodies’ that are the barrier to you conquering your weight?
For many, sticking to a set diet that helps you cut calories and lose weight is a huge struggle.
Many diets mean a drastic reduction in the consumption of foods you love – chocolate, sweets, cakes as well as other snacks and nibbles – if you fall off the wagon and start yo-yoing it’s all too easy to watch all that weight that you’ve managed to lose gradually start to pile itself back on.
Dieting isn’t easy – it’s an uphill struggle made all the more difficult thanks to the numerous temptations and pressures of everyday life!
Even if you’re one of the lucky few who has started to lose weight, you might find that however hard you try, you just can’t lose those last few pounds.
However hard you try, however careful you are with what you eat, regardless of the amount of exercise your doing to burn off those unwanted calories you just can’t seem to reach your target weight.
How frustrating and demoralizing!!!
A considerable amount of research has been undertaken over the years to identify why people put on weight and one of the all to common causes is overeating and unhealthy snacks between meals.
This results in a much higher number of calories being consumed and, if you don’t have an active lifestyle, these extra calories are very, very hard to burn off – hence resulting in an increase in weight.
For many, eating can even become an obsession. With such a wide wealth of treats and snacks at our finger tips it’s no surprise that temptation sometimes wins out over will power especially when high calorie goodies are within reach.
You might think you’re in control, that it’s just for the one time, but for many once you’ve given in to temptation that first time it makes it all that much more difficult to resist the next time and the time after that.
Before you know it you’re binging and snacking left right and center causing you to balloon in size and weight. So much for that strict weight loss diet you were trying to stick to!
One of the biggest problems encountered during your weight loss journey are those commonly occurring hunger pangs – that’s when you’re at your most vulnerable because your portion control is lost, you start getting the desire to snack and deviate from your set eating schedule as defined by the rules of the diet you’re currently undertaking.
The solution is to find a way to take back control of your appetite – you need a healthy, natural and effective way to curb your hunger and get rid of those eating obsessions.
One solution is to take an appetite reducer such as Fibretrim.
Fibretrim is a weight loss drink that has been clinically proven to reduce those tempting feelings of hunger; in fact a recent study found that on average, those that took Fibretrim before a meal ate on average 200 fewer calories.
