My hCG Diet Story

The Question
After getting over being shocked that she didn’t adore my Adonis like body—no one should name a pizza joint after Adonis—I showed some interest. After all I’d been carrying around an extra 30 lbs or so and according to some doctor my wife had seen on Oprah I carried it in the wrong place and was subject to immediate death if I didn’t get rid of it.
The Beginnings
First of all I read Trudeau’s book—well the first couple of pages at least. Jeepers! You would have to be a Buddhist Monk to follow phase one as outlined in those pages, so I asked my sister if she did all of that: she didn’t! It turns out that Kevin Trudeau got the diet from research done by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons—I wonder what all of those initials stand for? He was a British physician who published his findings in a report entitled, Pounds & Inches: A NEW APPROACH TO OBESITY published first in 1954. After reading this report I thought I could do it. Wow, what an experience. 
This graph shows what happened as I went on the diet, then took a maintenance break and resumed the diet. The spike at the GO! Point was due to necessary loading—sigh, what heaven.
The nuts and bolts of this diet is found in the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin or hCG which caused my hypothalamus to mobilize the fat stored in my adipose tissue—maybe I got Adonis and Adipose mixed up. That is what my sister said, she went on to explain that the hCG hormone would allow me to go on a 500 calorie diet—ye gads! I nearly quit the whole thing right there—with out the usual side effects such as:
- headaches
- hunger pains—not to be confused with craving an 18 inch Pizza from Adonis
- weakness—physical, not will power
- irritability
This, I was told, was because my body would burn about 2000 to 2500 calories of fat from my Adonis tissue—or was that adipose? Further more, I was told that my body would reshape itself rather than just becoming a big bag of empty skin. What the heck, I decided to try it.
Loading
The diet started out with two wonderful days of loading where I pigged-out to my heart’s content on fat. Since the hGC hormone I was taking caused the body to use fat for its energy source I needed a ready supply to ease the transition from getting energy from the food I ate to getting it from my fat. Trust me on this one: You want to load properly! If you don’t you will be very hungry the first few days of this diet.
Phase two
Alright this gets confusing. I went directly on phase two because phase one was all that crazy stuff Kevin Trudeau wrote in his book such as colon cleansing and what not. So the diet I followed had 3 phases called phase 2, phase 3, and phase 4. As I spent my first few days away from food I was mildly hungry and wildly craving. I would lay awake at night and pretend to eat things—by the way, you can have fantastic, endless, zero calorie meals this way. But the scales kept me going. My weight dropped like a stone and after about the third day my hunger was gone and my energy was fine.
Phase three
When I went on phase three I could eat anything except starches and refined sugars. This phase, I was told, stabilizes your weight. The big surprise for me was how disappointing it was to start eating again. I definitely did not have the same relationship with food that I had before. And I had little effort in maintaining my weight.
Phase Four
Phase four is basically eating what ever you want again; however, I set a weight limit on myself and if I ever reach that weight I will go back on to phase three until I lose it again. My limit is 2 lbs above my last-day-on-the-diet weight.
The Yucky Part
My sister informed me that I would either have to take injections once a day or take a tablet sublingually twice a day. I chose injections because it was less expensive and only once a day—I always have trouble remembering to do anything more than once. She ordered her supplies over the Internet and the whole diet cost me less than $100.
YOU CAN’T CHEAT
Would I recommend this diet? Well, yes but only if you are willing to commit to it 100%. If you cheat it will do the opposite to you. You will blow up like a balloon. You must commit to a minimum or 6 weeks. Three weeks on phase two and three on phase three. Read Dr. Simeons research and follow it and you will get results.
There is an easier way to do this diet than the way I did it. If you want a great place get started on an hCG diet of your own THIS IS IT! I am glad I lost the weight and there may be easier ways to do it but none faster!

Check out Food Lion or Wise grocery stores in the frozen food section. In the breakfast area you will find analog meats such as Grillers, and Griller Crumbles. These items make great protein foods for vegetarians. You can also use whey, but it is less tasty.
